GODWIN ICHUKWU ADA

Hon. Godwin Adah Ichukwu was born on 24th March 1968 to the disciplined and humble family of Ichukwu of Okpoga Oklenyi, Okpoga West, Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State.

Godwin Adah began his Primary Education in 1973 and completed it in 1978 at St. Bernard’s Primary School, Ugwu-Okpoga where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He later enrolled at the St. Francis College Otukpo in 1978 where he completed his secondary education and obtained the West African School Certificate (WASC) O’ Level in 1985. He got admission in to the Sokoto State Polytechnic (now in Kebbi State), Birnin Kebbi in 1987. In 1989 he obtained Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Marketing. He then moved to Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo in 1993 and was awarded the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marketing in 1995.

Between 1998 and 1999, he was at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Financial Management) from 1999 – 2002. Hon. Ada was back again at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University where he obtained a masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing.

He is currently a doctoral candidate at the Ebonyi State University Abakaliki. He did his National Youth Service in the 1995/96 Service Year at the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND), Lagos.

Hon. Godwin Adah whose teaching as a profession got appointment at the St. Williams Comprehensive Secondary School, Otukpo, in 2002. However, in 2004, he got another teaching appointment at Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo but again decided later to join the Okpokwu Local Government administration in 2011.

Hon. Godwin Adah held several positions of responsibility including Principal, St. Williams Comprehensive Secondary School, Otukpo from 2002 – 2004, Coordinator, Benue State Polytechnic and Consultancy Service, Otukpo Centre, 2009 – 2011, Caretaker Chairman, Okpokwu Local Government 2011.

In July 2011, the Executive Governor of Benue State appointed him honourable Commissioner for Science and Technology.

His hobbies are reading, travelling and watching football. He is married and has wonderful children.
