Hon. Orker-Jev was born 53 years ago. He received his secondary education at the prestigious Bristow Secondary School in Gboko, Benue State where he obtained his WASC in 1981.

In order for this outstanding legislature to further his education, he applied into the department of Law, university of Jos where he was admitted and obtained his LL.B in 1988. Between the years 1988 and 1989, he attended the Nigerian Law School after which he was called into the Nigerian Law Bar.

Prior to his political career, Hon Orker-Jev carved a niche for himself in the private sector as a legal practitioner.

His passion and interest in rural and youth development made him to contest for the House of Representatives in 2007, representing Buruku federal constituency, a position he has occupied till date.

Hon .Emmanuel Yisa Orker-Jev is on the House committee on Rules and Business and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He has travelled widely to different parts of the world. He is married with children.
