Adaikwu Inwata

Mr. Inwata who hails from Oju Local Government Area was born on 1st March, 1959 in Ekpong Ainu.

He had early education at RCM Primary School, Ekpong-Ainu. After obtaining the First School Leaving Certificate, Mr. Inwata proceeded to Methodist High School, Ainu-Igede from 1972 to 1977, where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate (WASC).

In the same year he completed secondary school, Mr. Inwata got admission into the University of Jos, where he graduated in 1981 with a B.Sc (Hons.) in Psychology.

A member of the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, he started his working career in 1982 with the Ministry of Local Government where he performed inspectorate duties.

From 1988 to 1991, he worked in the department of local government in the Governor’s office and later in the office of the Deputy Governor from 1991 to 1994; Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Government House in 1994; Local Government Service Commission from 1995 to 1997; Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (July-November 1997) where he worked in various administrative capacities.

In November 1997, Mr. Inwata was appointed Secretary, Benue State Public Accounts Committee, where he worked until June 1999, then was moved to the Ministry of Establishments and Management Services as an Administrative Officer.

He served as Director of Administration and Finance in the Deputy Governor’s office from February 2000 to October 2003 as well as Director of Establishment and Management Services in the Bureau of Establishments and Management Services from October 2003 to October 2006.

He also worked as Director of Administration and Finance in the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport form October 2006 to February 2007, and Director of Administration and Finance, Government House Administration from February 2007 to March 2013.

Mr. Inwata was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Benue State civil service in March 2013 where he served in Administration, Office of the Head of Service from March 2013 to October 2013. He also served as Permanent Secretary, General Services, Office of the Secretary to the State Government (Cabinet Office) from 2014.

He was appointed Head of Service and sworn in on 2nd June, 2015.

Mr. Inwata who is married with children enjoys reading and traveling.
