President Bola Tinubu has indeed demonstrated a strong gesture of respect following the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja. By rescheduling the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting and directing that flags be flown at half-staff for a week, he underscores the nation’s mourning for General Lagbaja, who served with distinction from June 19, 2023, until his sudden passing on November 5, 2024. Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga confirmed these measures, adding that Tinubu personally extended his condolences to Lagbaja’s family and the Nigerian Armed Forces, recognizing the general’s dedication to national service.
The rescheduled date for the FEC meeting will be communicated soon.
