Born on July 15, 1969 in Jenuwa Nyifiye and ordained a Catholic Priest for Jalingo Diocese in July 15, 1995, Msgr. Mark studied philosophy at the St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary in Makurdi from 1987 to 1990 and theology at St. Augustine’s Major Seminary in Jos from 1991 to 1995.①
Mark studied for a Licentiate in Catechesis and Youth Pedagogy at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome between 1999 and 2002.
He graduated in Religious Studies at the University of Ibadan (Nigeria) and obtained a licentiate in Youth Ministry and Catechetics at the Salesian Pontifical University (Rome).
As a Priest, Mark served in different capacities, including Parish Vicar, Parish Priest, Diocesan Chaplain for Youth, Secretary to the Bishop of Jalingo, and Diocesan Director of the Pontifical Missionary Works, among other Priestly responsibilities.
He has served in several parishes, was the diocesan Chaplain of the youth and the diocesan Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. he was later appointed Rector of the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Jalingo and Vicar general of the diocese
Pope Francis announced the establishment of the Diocese of Wukari and appointed Mark.
The Diocese of Wukari has been curved from the Diocese of Jalingo, making it suffragan of the Metropolitan See of Jos.
Until his appointment as the Bishop of Wukari Diocese, Mark has been serving as Rector of St. Augustine’s Major Seminary in Jos.
