
Ilorin International Airport is an alternate airport to Lagos Airport, also about an hour drive from Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. Recently, the Ilorin International Airport terminal building was upgraded to accommodate 500 passengers at a time.

It was commissioned by President Olusegun Obasanjo, who apart from the commissioning also performed the foundation laying ceremony of the airport’s cargo shed expected to be completed in March 2007. The Airport was commissioned on February 16, 1978. It is located at Fili area of Ilorin about 9km Southwest of Ilorin town.
