Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissioned the 492-flat housing project, named after the first civilian governor of the state, Lateef Jakande. The estate is located in Igando, Lagos.
The project started in 2012 under the Home Ownership Scheme of the administration of ex-Governor Babatunde Fashola, but was abandoned for four years.
This adds a total of 1250 existing homes. Similar housing schemes exists in Igbogbo, Sangotedo, Iponri, Gbagada and Omole.
