STATES GOVERNORS MEET TO ADDRESS LG AUTONOMY, REVENUE ALLOCATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCY

Today, state governors convened in Abuja to discuss critical matters, including the challenges facing local government (LG) administration. The meeting, held under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), aimed to address LG autonomy, revenue allocations, and administrative efficiency, which have been areas of contention and concern across various states.

In addition to LG administration, the governors explored topics like security, infrastructure development, and strategies for economic improvement. Given recent demands for improved governance at the grassroots level, the governors are expected to deliberate on policies that could enhance accountability and service delivery.

This meeting reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and respond to the growing calls for more autonomous and efficient local government systems in Nigeria. Further details are anticipated following their resolutions.
