Herdsmen attacks on Anyiin: Senator Udende consoles affected people

Benue North East Senator Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende has consoled and sympathized with the people of Logo Local Government Area of Benue State over Wednesday attacks that claimed scores of lives.

Senator Udende further expressed sadness that Fulani militia herdsmen have sustained attacks and senseless killing on innocent people and the inability of the security operatives to protect the citizens of Sankara despite repeated calls, appeals, motions and resolutions by the National Assembly to relevant authorities .

Describing the attack as one, too many, Senator Udende extended his heart felt condolences to the families of the victims and warned that the continued attacks were orchestrated with the view to destabilize the Zone and wipe out the people from there ancestral homes.

Udende pointed out that, he had prepared a motion to further call attention of Government to the attacks but the screening of ministerial nominees by the Senate pre-occupied senates attention and the motion was moved on resumption from Senate’s break.

The Senate Committee Chairman on Anti-Corruption maintain that the attacks that left many with various degree of injuries must be condemned by all persons of good conscience.

The attack which commenced about 6:32 p.m on Wednesday, and lasted for over 3 hours, resulted to the missing of many people.

This attack marks the second in one month by the Fulani terror­ists, first being On October 9, 2024, Fulani mi­litia attacked Ayilamo town, the headquarters of Tombo council ward and killed scores of people.
