The local government system in Lagos is essential for organizing the state’s growing population and managing its vibrant economy. Lagos, as Nigeria’s largest city and a leading economic center, relies on its 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and numerous council wards to facilitate efficient administration and deliver services close to the people. Nigeria operates a federal system of government with three levels: federal, state, and local.
