Success is often built on a foundation of determination, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The life and career of Dr. Vincent Iorja Gisaor embody these qualities, reflecting decades of academic distinction, professional achievement, and dedicated public service. From his humble beginnings in rural Benue State to becoming an Associate Professor of Economics and a respected policy expert, Dr. Gisaor’s journey stands as an inspiration to aspiring scholars, professionals, and community leaders.
Early Life and Family Background
Dr. Vincent Iorja Gisaor was born over four decades ago in Ivenge, Mbausu, Mbadede, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. He was born into the loving family of Mr. Michael Gisaor Akur and Mrs. Mary Ngoundu Gisaor.
As the third child in a family of ten children—five boys and five girls—he grew up in an environment that emphasized hard work, discipline, and education. These early values would later shape his remarkable academic and professional accomplishments.
A Strong Educational Foundation
Dr. Gisaor’s educational journey began at LGEA Primary School Ivenge, Mbausu, where he studied between 1988 and 1993 and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).

He completed his senior secondary education at Abege Memorial Secondary School, Vandeikya, where he earned his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) certificate in 1999.

Never content with resting on his achievements, Dr. Gisaor pursued yet another academic challenge by enrolling in the Faculty of Law, Benue State University, in 2017. In 2023, he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with Second Class Upper Division.
