AKURA ASSURES BENUE TRADITIONAL RULERS OF THEIR INCREASED WELFARE IN ALIA’S ADMINISTRATION

Assures the Royal Fathers of a permanent Secretariat.

Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Bureau of Local and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Dr Dennis Akura, has assured the Traditional Rulers in Benue State of the Fr Alia led administration’s commitment to sustain the template of regular payment of their entitlements.

Dr Akura gave this assurance on Friday, 18th October, 2024, when he played host to the delegation of Benue State Third Class Chiefs who visited him for a courtney call in his Makurdi residence.

Dr Akura, explained that the Rev. Gentleman has approved the building of a gigantic Benue State Traditional Rulers Secretariat in order to ease the burden of the institution’s recreational events activities and as part of restructuring the Traditional institution in Benue State.

He described the third class chiefs as “most nearer to the people” as well as charged them to work in synergy with their new Executive Council Chairmen to complement the efforts of the Fr Alia led administration’s fight against the menace of insecurity in Benue State.

Earlier in an opening remark, the Chairman of third class Chiefs in Benue State who’s covering the jurisdiction Ihyarev extraction in Makurdi Local Government(Mue Ter Ihyarev,) HRH. Simon Ajo, explained that the purpose of the visit to the Special Adviser, was to familiarized and strengthen their working relationship and also to appreciate him for his good work of meditation between the Traditional Rulers and the Executive Governor of Benue State.

Chief Ajo eulogized, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia for keeping his promise with the Traditional Rulers and also assured that, the third class Chiefs are ready to established a smooth working relationship with the new Executive Council Chairmen to ensure massive rural development.

In another remark, the Mue Ter Kyan in Vandeikya, HRH. Augustine Aule who spoke for zone A and HRH. Jacob Obande, Adoka who spoke for Zone C, described the appointment of Hon Dr Dennis Akura, as “well deserved” and charged him to continue been dedicated and neutral in the discharge of his duties. The duo Royal Fathers, appreciated Rev. Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for finding Dr Dennis Akura, worthy for the job.

In a vote of thanks, Director Chieftaincy Affairs, Pastor Joseph Akaazua, called on the traditional rulers to work in collaboration with their subjects to assist the Fr Alia led administration’s efforts to fight insecurity in their respective lineages.

The Agricultural revitalization Committee put in Place by Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, also visited the event to Interface with the traditional rulers for smooth execution of their terms of reference.
