Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has inaugurated four newly constructed factories under the stewardship of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC). This significant milestone highlights the state’s commitment to industrial growth and economic diversification.
Overview of the Commissioned Factories
The newly launched businesses include:
- BIPC Polythene and Nylon Printing Factory
- BIPC Water Expansion Factory
- BIPC Nails Ltd
- BIPC Bread Expansion Factory
The Polythene and Nylon Printing Factory, located near the BIPC headquarters, aims to reduce reliance on packaging materials imported from Lagos. BIPC Nails Ltd has been established to address industrial needs within the state. Meanwhile, the expansions of the Bread and Water factories aim to cater to growing demands, boost local production, and contribute significantly to job creation.
Governor Alia’s Vision for Benue State
Represented by Hon. Alumo Mannaseh Orpin, Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Gov. Alia underscored the administration’s goal of fostering an environment conducive to industrial and economic growth.
“These projects will generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, increase our internally generated revenue (IGR), and position Benue State as a hub of industrial growth in Nigeria,” the governor remarked.
He emphasized that these factories are not only a step toward reducing import dependency but also vital to achieving food security and improving living standards.
Economic Impact and Future Plans
Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, Managing Director of BIPC, outlined the expected economic benefits of the projects. According to him, the new factories will collectively generate over 700 direct and indirect jobs, contributing significantly to the reduction of unemployment in Benue State.
In addition, Dr. Asemakaha revealed plans for the upcoming launch of the BIPC Premium Lager Beer on December 22, 2024. This product, the first from the Food Basket Brewery, signifies BIPC’s ongoing commitment to creating value and enhancing livelihoods in Benue.

Chief Mrs. Cynthia Kundumiyol Dajo, wife of the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, applauded the Managing Director and encouraged continued support for the company’s initiatives.
