Walter Feghabo

Navy Commander (retired) Walter Feghabo served as the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State in Nigeria between October 1996 and August 1998 after Ebonyi State was created from parts of Enugu State and Abia State during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He was then appointed administrator of Delta State in August 1998 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, handing over to the elected civilian governor James Ibori on 29 May 1999. In June 1999, all former military administrators in the Abacha and Abubakar regimes were retired by the Federal Government, including Walter Feghabo.

Simeon Oduoye

Simeon Oduoye was born on 13 April 1945. He obtained the West African School Certificate in 1964 from Akinorum Grammar School, Ikirun. He enlisted in the Nigeria Police on 1 July 1965. He became an Assistant Inspector General of Police, retiring in 1999. He was Administrator of Niger and Ebonyi States 1996-1999. He was chairman of NSPRI (2005–2007). He is Chairman and Managing Director of Layo Woodmill Nigeria Ltd. As administrator of Ebonyi State, one of his first acts was to set up a committee to restructure the state civil service to ensure order, seniority, observance to rules and regulations. In an October 2009 interview, Senator Julius Agbo cited Oduoye’s administration as an example of a very well organised person who tried to establish civil service in Ebonyi state

Sam Egwu

Sam Ominyi Egwu (born 20 June 1954) is a member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria. He was Governor of Ebonyi State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. President Umaru Yar’Adua appointed him Federal Minister of Education in December 2008.

Martin Elechi

Martin Elechi is the Former Governor of Ebonyi State in southeast Nigeria. He ran in the general elections on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and assumed the position on May 29, 2007, succeeding Sam Egwu. Elechi ran successfully for re-election on 26 April 2011.

Dave Umahi is the present Governor of Ebonyi State in southeast Nigeria. He ran in the general elections on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and assumed the position on May 29, 2015, succeeding Martin Elechi.
