Federal Polytechnic Wannune is a federal tertiary institution established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2020 to provide technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial education, particularly in science, technology, engineering, and management fields. It operates under the regulatory oversight of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The polytechnic is located in Wannune, within Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State in central Nigeria.

Its mission is to foster skill development, build technical competencies, and empower students for productive careers and national development.

Federal Polytechnic Wannune offers accredited National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes across several schools, including:

Admission Requirements

ND programmes:

  • Minimum UTME score (generally at least 100; some sources cite policy around 120)
  • First-choice institution in JAMB
  • Five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings

HND programmes:

  • Relevant ND with at least Lower Credit
  • Minimum 12 months industrial training (IT) after ND (longer experience required for lower than 2.1)

Admission processes include payment of screening fees (e.g., ₦5,000 for ND, ₦7,000 for HND) and attendance at post-UTME screening exercises held on campus.
