Obudu Mountain Resort, known in the past as Obudu Cattle Ranch, is a prominent tourist destination in Nigeria; a world-class resort with preserved natural beauty located in the mountainous area of Sankwala, Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The resort is close to the Cameroon border in the north eastern part of Cross River, approximately 110km east of the town of Ogoja and 65km from the town of Obudu. It falls within the Obanliku Local Government Area.

Situated on a relatively flat plateau on the Oshie Ridge of the Sankwala Mountains, Obudu Mountain Resort is approximately 134 square kilometers in extent.

It is at an elevation of around 5 200 feet (1 576 meters) above sea level, and enjoys a cool temperate climate and a landscape of rolling grassland and Montana forests. It is an area of idyllic tranquility, beautiful scenery and breathtaking views.

INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN RACE
It is called the Obudu Ranch International Mountain Race and it’s an annual mountain running a competition that takes place in late November in Obudu. The race is known as the ‘World’s Richest Mountain Race’ because it has the largest total prize money available of any mountain race.

HEIGHT & CLIMATE
Due to its 1580 metres (5200 ft) elevation from the sea level, the region receives semi-temperate climate. The climate is suitable for the enjoyment of the tourists.

INTESTINAL ROAD VIEW
The intestinal road is the road that brings one up the mountain to Obudu Cattle Ranch. The road network is spiral and it gives a zig-zag view from the top

The Canopy Walkway is a 100m swinging bridge suspended above the forest

CABLE CAR
Obudu Mountain Resort is 1576 metres above sea level. To get there, you can either drive the famously winding 11km road from the bottom of the hill or take the cable car. The drive takes about 25 minutes while the cable car ride takes about 6 minutes.

ANGEL’S VIEW AND PRESIDENTIAL VILLA
The Angel’s View is a point where some valleys form to give a “V” shape. This view takes your breath away and makes you appreciate the wonderful creation of God. The Angel’s View is between the Helipad and the Presidential Villa.

BECHEVE NATURE RESERVE AND TREE NURSERY
The Becheve Nature Reserve is a conservation forest filled with various species of plants and animals. There are many species of trees and it holds some trees have been there before civilization.

GROTTO
Grotto is another mini waterfall with a pool. But unlike Natural Pool, Grotto has been modified a little to allow the water to accumulate at its bed, forming a deep pool. The depth and width of the water pool was artificially created.

Obudu Plateau
Obudu Plateau is found on the Oshie Ridge of the Sankwala Mountain range in Cross River State. The Obudu Mountain Resort was developed on this plateau. The plateau is found in the Obanliku local government area of Cross River state and is a giant massive spread over an area of over 40 square miles and rises to about 5200 ft above sea level, with its peak reaching to a height of about 1,716 metres above sea level. The plateau is known to a habitat of rare species of birds.

Bebi Airstrip
This is a shuttle flight mode of transportation from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt via Calabar to Bebi.

Bebi Airstrip spared the long drive of over five hours from the state capital to the Ranch.

The airstrip now attracts between nine to twelve flights from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt via Calabar to Bebi.

The runway of the airstrip is being extended to two kilometres so that it can carry small Jets with Instrument Landing system (ILS) Its Parameter fencing is near completion.

The Ranch also has shuttle buses belonging to the Cross River Tourism Bureau.

Water Park

Integrated Dairy Farm
Cattle are bred on the Ranch for their fresh milk, butter, meat and cheese.

The farm has birds and pigs that produce eggs and pork respectively in commercial quantity.

The dairy section makes fresh milk, butter, meat and cheese available on a daily basis

Grotto
If you are in doubt about your fitness, test it by going down the Grotto
The gentle gradient of the slopes lures you on to one of the most beautiful sites you have ever seen.

If you don’t mind the chill in the air and are a fairly good swimmer, you may take a dip. The experience may even assist you in climbing up.

Ceramic Industry
This is located at Utanga, which is to be an annex of the resort.

This industry will thrive here because all the raw materials are up in the Ranch and the market is large.

Vegetable Patch
Government studied the viability of growing some temperate crops.
These crops includes The leeks, carrots, spring onions, rhubarbs, lettuce, string beans, green pepper, cabbages and even more.

The research proved that these crops could be grown in a fairly commercial quantity with a little care.

Honey Factory
This is properly constructed to produce honey in commercial quantity.
