JOHN TIMBEE TONDU

Hon. John Timbee Tondu was born on December 12, 1974 in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

He commenced his primary education in 1980 and completed it in 1986. For his secondary education young Tondu was at Government Science Secondary School, Ganye, Taraba State between 1987 and 1992 and was an under-graduate at the Federal University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State of Nigeria between 1994 and 2000 and subsequently bagged a masters degree in Surveying and Geo-Informatics between 2008 and 2010. For his National Youth Service Programme, Mr. Tondu was posted to the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCT Abuja between May 2001 and May 2002.

He took up appointment with the FCDA Abuja between 2002 and 2008 as Surveyor II and I respectively. He took another appointment with MTN as Telecom Consultant, the position he held until he was appointed Hon. Commissioner for Lands and Survey with the Benue State Government in 2009.

Mr. John Tondu is a professional member of many societies including Associate member, Surveyors Registration Council of Nigeria (SURCON), Associate Member, Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Associate Member GEOSON and Honorary Member, Rotary International Makurdi District 9125.

He is a recipient of numerous awards and honours in Nigeria and abroad. These include: The Distinguished Leadership Gold Merit Awards (DLGMA) by Trailblazers Magazine 2010, Meritorious Diamond Award for National Development by Corporate and Media Africa Communication Limited, Award of Excellence and Total Commitment to Service by Community of Tiv Students, National Secretariat among others.

He is married and has children.
