Katsina State

Katsina State is one of the Nigerian States located in the Sahel Savannah region of Northern Nigerian.

It’s between Kano and Sokoto.

Katsina State was created by the Military Administration of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on Wednesday, 27 September, 1987.

It was carved out of Kaduna State.

Katsina initially had 7 Local Government Areas but later Increased to 34.

Daura and Katsina
Katsina State is a political expression of an area that comprises two major areas: Daura and Katsina.

The two kingdoms were among the oldest seven Hausa States.

Land area
The land area is 24,308.40 square kilometers.

Neighbours include Zamfara and Sokoto to the West, Jigawa and Kano to the East, while Maradi and Damagaran in Niger Republic lie to the North and North-East. Zaria and Kaduna State lies to the South.
