Michael Mbauze Iordye was born on 12th April 1958, at Tse Akaahena, Nzorov, in Guma Local Government area.
He attended the L.G.E.A. Primary School, Agasha, from 1964 to 1970 and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1970. He was at Gboko High School, Gboko, his West African School Certificate (WASC), from 1971 to 1975. He also attended the then Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology (MUCAST) for the IJMB/GCE ‘A’ Level from 1977 to 1978. Between 1986 to 1987, he was at the University of Jos where he obtained a Diploma in Public Administration. From 1992 to 1996 he attended the University of Uyo where he obtained a B.Sc degree in Economics.
Mr. Iordye began his Civil Service Career in 1980 as Assistant Executive Officer in the office of the Head of Service, Makurdi where he rose through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary, Management Services, a position he held until his appointment as the Head of Service. He is a member of National Labour Advisory Council and Management Service and National Council on Establishment.
He is married with four children. His hobbies include lawn and table tennis, volley ball, football and reading.
