Mwuese Mnyim

Mrs. Mnyim hails from Bar Council Ward of Makurdi local government. She was born on September 10, 1984 and started primary education at Obafemi Awolowo University Staff School, Ile-Ife, Osun State in 1991, completing in 1996 with the First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC.

Between 1996 and 2002, she attended Federal Government Girls’ College, Ipetu-Modu, also in Osun State for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSCE, which she obtained and proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University in 2002 to study law.

After graduation in 2008, Mrs. Mnyim attended the Nigeria Law School, Enugu campus, and passed out in 2009 after which she was called to bar. In 2010, she studied at the Nigerian Institute of Management and obtained a Proficiency Certificate in Management, after which she returned to OAU, Ile-Ife for Master of Laws which she obtained in 2014. She is currently working on a PhD in Law at the Benue State University, Makurdi.

A working career spanning more than ten years has seen Mrs. Mnyim as a Presenter for the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Ile – Ife between 2004 and 2006 as well as a stint with the Legal Aid at the NYSC Clinic in Kano State between 2009 and 2010. From 2007 to 2009, she worked as Research Assistant to the Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, while between 2010 and 2012, she was a lecturer in Criminal Law at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State. She later worked with a private legal outfit, Okechukwu Nwaeze and Company, also in Kano.

Until her appointment as Commissioner she had been a lecturer in the Law Faculty of the Benue State University since 2013.

Mrs. Mnyim has published several works on jurisprudence and other subjects and also attended several seminars and workshops. She also has to her credit several awards and professional accomplishments.

Her extra-curricular activities include cooking, gardening, long distance racing as well as reading and writing.

Mrs. Mnyim is married.
