Oju LGC Chairman, Jackson Adah Ominyi, makes first key appointments

The Executive Chairman of Oju Local Government Council, Hon. Jackson Adah Ominyi, has appointed Dr Sunday Ogakwu Adoga as the Local Government Secretary and Chief Uta Ogbu as his Chief of Staff.

Dr. Sunday Ogakwu Adoga is a seasoned university Don with numerous educational achievements to his name. He did his first and second degrees in Benue State University, Makurdi and his PhD course work in UNN, Nsukka with his bench work in Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. Dr Sunday Ogakwu Adoga is currently a Senior Lecturer at Benue State University, Makurdi, a career that is distinguished by his numerous publications in both local and international journals.

In his capacity as Secretary of the Local Government, Hon. Adoga will be responsible for the smooth administration of the local government secretariat, ensuring effective coordination between the executive and legislative arms of the council, keeping records of council decisions, and assisting in policy formulation and implementation.

Similarly, the newly appointed Chief of Staff, Chief Uta Ogbu is an erstwhile Acting District Head of Oju council ward. He is a cautious personality who is coming into the system with his expertise and experience in public administration as well as the traditional institution.

While congratulating the appointees, the Chairman has charged them to ensure that Oju Local Government benefits from experienced leadership and is retooled for significant progress and transformation. Hon. Jackson Adah Ominyi has equally expressed confidence in the ability of the new appointees to bring their vast knowledge and expertise to bear in ensuring the smooth running of the council. The Executive Chairman reiterated the importance of their roles in the effective functioning of local governance and charged the appointees to carry out his responsibilities with the fear of God, dedication, transparency, and a focus on the development of the Local Government.
