Hon. Raymond Zege Aondoakura took oath of office as the 34th Council Chairman of Buruku Local Government Area alongside his counterparts from other councils in Benue State.
The inauguration was performed by the Benue State Governor, His Excellency, Reverend Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia at the old Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi on Monday 7 October 2024. Governor Alia charged them to deliver good governance in their respectful councils.
Hon. Zege, in a statement, noted that his intentions for Buruku is to mainstream the agenda of Governor Hyacinth Alia through leveraging on the comparative advantage of his people. He expressed confidence that the riverine council, will experience more sustainable growth and development under his leadership.
While Lauding Governor Alia for his numerous developmental strides in the areas of Agriculture and infrastructure, Hon. Zege noted that, Buruku as a riverine area is known for agriculture and other great potentials and promised to attract more development to compliment the efforts of Governor Alia towards the transformation of the council area, further promising that the trust his people and Governor Alia bestowed on him will be reciprocated by delivering beyond expectations.
After his successful inauguration, the cool headed gentleman alongside his Deputy, Hon. Abite Olele, headed to the altar of God at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, New GRA Makurdi, where the Priest-in-charge in a homily taken from Luke 10: 25 to 27, charged the Congregation and the new Chairman, to love the Lord God with all his heart, soul, strength, mind and pursue the development of Buruku Local Government Area with single-minded commitment and the fear of God.
The Chairman had earlier in company of his Guma counterpart and ALGON Chairman, Hon. Orwough Maurice , that of Gboko, Hon. Torseer Yina, Makurdi, Hon. Joseph Keffi, Gwer-West, Hon. Ormin Torsar Victor, Gwer-East Hon. Timothy Nyiakura Adi and Tarka, Hon. Yenge Raphael, paid a courtesy visit on the Secretary to the Government of Benue State, Barrister Mrs. Serumun Aber in her office, where they were charged by the SSG to use their youthfulness to develop their Council areas.
Hon. Zege also made some private visits to some friends and party elders including, the Special Adviser to the Governor on International Investment Hon. Addingi Alex, Elder Iyoo Igbondo among others.
