BENUE COMMENCES URBAN RENEWAL PROJECTS

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia recently initiated urban renewal projects aimed at transforming infrastructure across Makurdi and other key areas. This effort includes 16 new road constructions and improvements in Makurdi, an underpass project, and the solar-powered “Light-up Makurdi” streetlight initiative. These projects aim to address traffic flow, increase safety, and enhance the state’s capital aesthetically, positioning it to compete with other Nigerian cities.

In addition to roadwork, Alia has also undertaken several improvements to local public facilities and services, including upgrades to the Benue State Secretariat and Benue State University Teaching Hospital. The administration’s focus on modernizing infrastructure and public services reflects a comprehensive agenda for urban and rural development. The governor’s recent initiatives also include revitalizing healthcare, supporting IDPs, and enhancing education through programs that address both primary education and ICT training for youths, creating pathways for sustainable economic growth.
