BURUKU COUNCIL CHAIRMAN ENGAGES SETRACO, COMMUNITY LEADERS ON RIVER BRIDGE PROJECT

Buruku Council Chairman, Hon. Raymond Zege Aondoakura on Tuesday, October 22 alongside the Benue State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime Orya paid a private visit to the management of SETRACO, the company handling the River Katsina Ala bridge project, Buruku crossing point.

Though held behind closed doors, deliberations were centered on exploring ways to ensure seamless cooperation between the Local Government and SETRACO, and to remind the company of their Corporate Social Responsibility to the Host Local Government Area.
Following the successful meeting, the Peoples’ Chairman proceeded to the Council Secretariat, where he interacted with traditional leaders and youths from Mbaapen Council Ward to address encroachment on government land, emphasizing the need for those occupying the areas to vacate.

Speaking separately, the District Head of Mbaapen, Chief Mper Upav, Kindred Head of Mbajôr, Chief Hembaor Akaanger all commended the Chairman for his proactive efforts within the few days of his assumption of Office. They unanimously assured the Buruku Chief Security Officer of the host Community’s readiness to offer him the necessary support to succeed in office.
On the issue of Government Land encroachment, the traditional rulers assured the Chairman, that their wards that have encroached on Government Land will vacate to pave way for developmental projects in the area.

Similarly, the cool headed 34th Buruku Council Chairman Hon. Raymond Zege Aondoakura also received on a courtesy visit, members of the 9th Buruku Legislative Council led by the leader of the House, Hon. Geoffrey Aondoyima.

Commending his administrative exploits thus far, the legislative members who expressed their readiness to collaborate with the Executive arm for the overall development of Buruku, encouraged the creation of a conducive working environment to enable them carry out productive legislative activities.

The Buruku Council Boss who also briefed some staff and Heads of Department, announced that his administration was introducing Biometric clock-in system for casual staff whom he said must duly carry out their duties before accessing their monthly stipends.
