Ahiazu Mbaise is a Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State, Nigeria.

It was founded from the merger of Ahiara and Ekwerazu.

It has a population of 170,902 (2006 census).

Ahiazu Mbaise is bounded to the north by Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano, to the east by Obowo and Ihitte Uboma, to the south by Ezinihitte Mbaise and Aboh Mbaise and to the west by Ikeduru

Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Secretariat

The Ahaizu Mbaise Local Government secretariat houses 28 office spaces, including a digitalized conference room and a 200-capacity meeting hall. It was completed in under 6 months and was commissioned in 2019.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by Governor Emeka Ihedioha, the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Uche Onyeagocha; the Chief Technical Adviser, Barr. P.G.U Madu; the Special Adviser on Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Mayor Eze; the Senior Special Assistant on Rural Development, Chief Richmond Osuji; the Senior Special Assistant on Project Monitoring & Evaluation, Engr. Uche Moneke; the Foremost Elder Statesman, Chief I.D. Nwoga; Former Military Governor of Old Delta State, Air Commodore Luke Ochulor; Traditional and Religious Leaders, Members of Civil Society Groups, and other members of the general public.

The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Hon. Sam Ahiarakwe also expressed his gratitude to the Governor Emeka Ihedioha for his unending support and faith in him, assuring that he will not relent in following the Governor’s quality and purposeful leadership example.

In his speech, Governor Emeka Ihedioha commended the Interim Management Committee of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, for their diligence and commitment. The Governor also extended his commendation to the contractor for the quality of his delivery in such a short period, assuring that his administration will make deliberate effort to encourage and reward diligence in service delivery.
