TINUBU NOMINATES NEW INEC REC, COMMISSIONERS

President Bola Tinubu has recently nominated new individuals for the positions of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) and National Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). These nominations are part of efforts to strengthen the electoral body as Nigeria prepares for upcoming elections.

The nominees will need to be screened and confirmed by the Nigerian Senate. This process allows the Senate to review the qualifications and backgrounds of the candidates to ensure they meet the standards for overseeing credible and fair elections. President Tinubu’s nominations reflect his administration’s commitment to maintaining an independent and efficient electoral process, aiming to boost public confidence in INEC’s ability to manage elections transparently.

If confirmed, these appointees will be responsible for overseeing electoral processes in their designated regions and contributing to policy and procedural reforms within INEC.
