The area is primarily inhabited by members of the Panawa, Jarawa, Izere, and Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The languages of Zeem, Hausa, and Fufulde are commonly spoken in Toro LGA while the religions of Islam and Christianity are widely practiced in the area. Toro LGA occupies a total area of 6932 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 32 degrees centigrade. The LGA hosts the Owa Panawa hills and the Geji rock with the average wind speed in the area put at 10 km/h.

Economy
Farming is an important occupation of the people of Toro LGA with crops such as potatoes and onions grown in substantially large quantities within the area.
