It was founded from the merger of Ahiara and Ekwerazu.

Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Secretariat
The Ahaizu Mbaise Local Government secretariat houses 28 office spaces, including a digitalized conference room and a 200-capacity meeting hall. It was completed in under 6 months and was commissioned in 2019.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by Governor Emeka Ihedioha and several other persons.
The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Hon. Sam Ahiarakwe also expressed his gratitude to the Governor Emeka Ihedioha for his unending support and faith in him, assuring that he will not relent in following the Governor’s quality and purposeful leadership example.
In his speech, Governor Emeka Ihedioha commended the Interim Management Committee of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, for their diligence and commitment. The Governor also extended his commendation to the contractor for the quality of his delivery in such a short period, assuring that his administration will make deliberate effort to encourage and reward diligence in service delivery.
