List of Chairmen and Deputies in Local Government Areas of Bauchi State
The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State claimed all 20 chairmanship seats in the recent local government elections held on Saturday. The announcement was made by Alhaji Ahmed Makama, the chairman of the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC), who confirmed that all PDP candidates emerged victorious following the collation and compilation of votes.
Despite the PDP’s sweeping victory, the election faced challenges including low voter turnout and delays in the delivery of materials to polling units. The main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed concerns over potential manipulation, alleging that the PDP and BASIEC might rig the election.
However, BASIEC officials declared the process concluded and transparent.
