The Visual Arts Centre, Ilorin, one of the projects of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
As at 2023 some of the structural works and aesthetics at the facility have been covered to a large extent, leaving just finishing touches to be made on it.
The centre when finally completed will make history as the first purpose-built contemporary film and art institute in West Africa and the second Dolby Atmos certified film production studio in the region.
Governor AbdulRazaq has rolled out a number of legacy economic projects that are primed to change the face of Kwara State and place it on the world map.
While some of these big projects have been completed, many others are at various stages of completion.
The Visual Arts Centre has been described as a project that will make Kwara the go-to place in the creative and entertainment industry.
It is a museum of visual and cinematic arts that encompasses post-production studio facilities, galleries and screening space, among others.
While it is projected to attract investors to the state, the establishment will also throw up job opportunities for people of the state.
