John Textor has asked merchant bank Raine to fast-track the sale of his Crystal Palace shares ahead of his potential Everton takeover, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported via its website on 19 September that Textor has two groups vying for his shares who are leading the race with the American businessman hoping to get around £190m-to-£200m for his 45 per cent stake.

The report also adds that with the sale process being fast-tracked, it could all be over within a month.

Everton needs John Textor to sell his Crystal Palace shares
Everton have been in the middle of a takeover saga for some time now and things finally seem to be taking shape.

While Dan Friedkin threw his hat back into the ring for the Toffees takeover [Bloomberg, 16 September], it seems like Textor is the avenue that Everton will be going down.

The American has been labelled as the frontrunner to take over the club by Alan Myers [16 September] and looks to be finalising the steps needed to make the purchase official.

There’s nothing more that Everton fans would want more than the future of their club being stable.

Farhad Moshiri has been attempting to offload the Merseyside outfit for what feels like a lifetime now and with each failed attempt, a deal seemed further and further away from completion.

Now that Textor seems to be looking to fast-track things, Everton fans may finally be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and will be hoping he can finish things before January comes around.

Especially if Sean Dyche’s men are still falling into the Premier League relegation battle.
