Saki East with her headquarters at Ago-Amodu came into being on 14th December, 1996. 

The creation was during the reign of the Late Military Head of State, General Sani Abacha. 

It used to be part of the defunct Ifedapo Local Government which was splitted into three Local Government; Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West local government.
